SYNOPSIS: Life is good. Cami is away at her dream college with her dream man by her side. She thinks if she can just get through with meeting Hunter’s family that everything will be perfect. Little does she know that life’s about to turn upside down again when Hunter is called to infiltrate a gang whose specialty is chopping and racing cars. His contact happens to be a beautiful curvy girl who is the gang leader’s sister and he has to pose as her boyfriend. Communication with Cami is basically forbidden to help keep his cover.

Hunter, however, can’t stand being away from the girl he really loves, and he sneaks away one night to meet her across town. He doesn’t know the gang leader, Ripper, has suspicions about him already and he’s following him to see where he goes. He surprises Hunter and Cami, and Hunter quickly introduces her as his cousin who is having some car trouble. He thinks all is well until he discovers he has one serious problem. Ripper likes Cami and decides to pursue her, drawing her into the same dangerous world he’s supposed to bring down.

Can he keep his cover without having Cami get caught in the crossfire? Will the two of them survive having to watch each other fake it in the arms of another? Or will their hot stolen kisses destroy everything?

**If you haven’t read the first book in this series, do NOT read this review. Check out my review of Crush (Crush #1).

5+ starsREVIEW:

Love: Smitten represents love in many different ways; from the love of material things, family, and affection. It shows how love can help a person conquer their problems or destroy them.

Forgiveness: Cami struggles with what happened to her, her senior year. This theme is briefly touched on in the story, but we see how Cami’s past affects her future.

Deceit: Not everyone is who they seem to be in Smitten. The twist and turns this novel has will have you on the edge of your seat. I found myself trying to think like a detective and solve the case right there on the side of Hunter.

I wish I was able to feel an emotional connection to Cami when she was dealing with the problems in her past, but I barely felt anything for her. These scenes could have been developed more.

Cami, Russ, and Hunter are living in Tucson now. Just when Cami thought she could start living her life with her boyfriend Hunter, he ends up assigned to another undercover job where he cannot make any contact with his family or her for that matter. This drives Cami and Hunter insane, and Hunter risks his chance of blowing his cover by meeting Cami one night. Little did he know, he was being followed by the gang’s leader Ripper. Now Cami has to impersonate as being Hunter’s foster sister while Cami’s in the arms of another man…Ripper.

Hunter→The swoons you will be in! Oh my gosh! There is no way you won’t love Hunter Wilder. He’s too perfect.

Russ→ Russ will have you laughing in every scene he is in.

Lacey Weatherford sure does know how to write some funny lines. The humor throughout this novel were hilarious!
Weatherford description of scenes are simple and easy to read. It almost feels like you’re there with the characters.

There are so many cute moments throughout this novel, and I couldn’t stop squealing and saying, “Aww” at all the cute scenes. This book definitely plays with your heart. I went through sadness, anger, happiness, and fear all in this one novel. Crush series is definitely worth the read!

Lesson Learned? With family and friends by your side, love can conquer all.
