I have done bad things. I can’t take them back, and they are part of who I am.
Tris has survived a brutal attack on her former home and family. But she has paid a terrible price. Wracked by grief and guilt, she becomes ever more reckless as she struggles to accept her new future.
Yet if Tris wants to uncover the truth about her world, she must be stronger than ever… because more shocking choices and sacrifices lie ahead.
**DO NOT read this review if you have not read Divergent, Book 1.**
Forgiveness, Sacrifice, Bravery, Heroism, Friendship and Love
After Tris’s family faction Abnegation are destroyed by the conniving Jeanie Matthews, Tris sets out along with her friends to take down the Eurdite corrupted system. Tris is determined to do whatever she has to do to make life safe for her and her friends again. Allies, friendships, and relationships will be tested.
Tris→ Tris was annoying in this novel. She tried to act all big and bad and it just didn’t fit her personality. She was being reckless and not thinking her decisions through. I was really disappointed in her.
Four→ Oh, Four, oh Four…he is still dreamy and a badbutt.
I’m someone who loves imagery and wans to know the appearance of the characters from their hair to their outfits, but Veronica Roth didn’t give us enough information on how the characters look. Did not describe the characters often. Sometimes the description of the scenes were confusing.
Overall, I enjoyed Insurgent. Tris’s friends are like her second family. There were a lot of twist and turns and funny moments. I went through a lot of emotions reading this book and I enjoyed each and every moment of it.
Lesson Learned? Be brave. Be strong.
